Stirring It Up Inc. Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 17, 2026

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Stirring It Up Inc. collects, uses, and safeguards personal information in compliance with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Name, email, phone number, and payment details when booking a class or event.
  • Dietary restrictions or allergies provided voluntarily for participation.
  • Information provided via our contact forms or email newsletter sign-ups.
  • Usage data such as cookies, analytics, and IP addresses.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process bookings and payments.
  • To communicate event details, reminders, or cancellations.
  • To respond to inquiries and customer service requests.
  • For marketing communications (with consent).
  • To improve our website, services, and offerings.

3. Sharing of Information

  • We may share your data with trusted third-party providers (e.g., payment processors, booking platforms) solely for business purposes.
  • Some providers may store data outside Canada. We require them to comply with privacy protections equivalent to PIPA.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

4. Data Retention

  • Booking records, including allergy and dietary info, are kept for 2 years for insurance and legal compliance, then securely destroyed.
  • Marketing data is retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data may be retained up to 26 months.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, including encryption, password protection, and limited access to staff or contractors who require the data for business purposes.

6. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for the purposes below. The analytics and advertising tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager.

  • Functional cookies needed for the site and booking widget to work.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) that help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
  • Advertising cookies (Google Ads) used to measure the performance of our ads and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our site (remarketing). Google may process this data as an independent party; see Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy .
  • Session recording (Sentry) is used only when you book. Browsing this site is not recorded. Recording starts once you begin entering your booking details and covers the rest of the checkout, so we can find and fix problems in booking and payment. It captures what you enter, including your name, email address, phone number and any dietary notes, and your name and email are stored with the recording so we can match it to your booking. Payment card details are never captured: those go directly into our payment provider's secure frame, which the recording cannot see. Gift card and promo codes are hidden. Recordings are kept for 90 days, then deleted. Sentry processes them on our behalf; see Sentry's Privacy Policy at sentry.io/privacy .
  • Performance measurement (Sentry), on every page, so we can see which pages load slowly and fix them. This is separate from session recording above and is not a recording: it measures how long the page took to load and become usable, and records which page it was, your browser type and your general region. It does not capture anything you type or see. It is switched off by the same opt-out below.

As permitted under applicable Canadian privacy law, we rely on your implied consent for analytics, advertising, session recording and performance measurement: they are enabled by default and you may opt out at any time. You can:

  • Turn off analytics, advertising, session recording and performance measurement for this site right here. Your choice is stored in this browser, so you will need to set it again on other browsers or devices.
  • Adjust or block cookies in your browser settings (some features may stop working).
  • Manage the ads Google shows you at adssettings.google.com .
  • Opt out of Google Analytics using Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .

7. Your Rights

Under Alberta's PIPA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request corrections or deletions.
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications.

Requests can be made by contacting us at: jennifer@stirring-it-up.com

8. Media & Photography

Participation in events may involve photography or video recording. Guests who do not consent must inform staff at check-in. Parents/guardians must provide consent for minors.

9. Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The effective date will always be posted at the top of this page.
