Bring your team together outside the office for an afternoon or an evening in the kitchen. Your group works through the menu together, learning new skills and building an Italian meal from scratch, then gathers as a team to enjoy what it made.
Most team-building activities ask people to perform in front of colleagues. A cooking class does not. Everyone is working towards the same thing with their hands busy, which takes the pressure off and gets people talking to colleagues they would not normally work alongside.
Sessions are led by Head Instructor Jennifer and the Stirring It Up team at the YW Calgary Community Kitchen in Inglewood, and built around your group: your headcount, your menu, your dietary needs, your schedule. They work best with 10 people or more. Planning a wider staff event, a holiday party, or a client evening? See our corporate events page . Want to try a class yourself before you book the whole team? Any of our public hands-on classes will show you exactly how an evening runs.
What the session is like in practice.
This is an activity, not a demonstration you sit and watch. The group works together for the whole class.
Classes are relaxed and approachable, and set up so everyone can take part whatever their comfort level in the kitchen. Our team is on hand throughout.
We provide the ingredients, equipment, instruction, setup and cleanup, and our staff run the room for the whole event. Your team just turns up.

Tell us what the day is for and we will shape the session around it.
These sessions work best with 10 people or more. Below that the room is quiet, and the per-person cost climbs, because the kitchen and the instructor cost the same whatever the headcount. If your team is smaller than that, get in touch anyway and we'll see what we can do, or look at booking seats together in one of our public evening classes .
No previous cooking experience is required. Classes are relaxed and approachable, and set up so everyone can take part whatever their comfort level in the kitchen. Confident cooks still pick things up along the way.
A typical session runs about 2.5 hours from arrival to the end of the meal. We can shorten it for a lunch slot or stretch it for an offsite, so it fits the rest of your agenda.
